We draw the line
so the memories
stay close.
We’re Jay and Maud — a Dutch couple, outdoor people, map lovers, and the founders of Tell Your Trail. From Vittorio Veneto, Italy, we create posters for the adventures people want to remember: long trails, muddy races, favorite rides, once-in-a-lifetime hikes, and personal routes with a story.
What started with one poster for our own wall has grown into a studio for anyone who wants to bring their adventure home.
Jay draws. Maud writes.
We share the trail.
Jay turns your route into the design. Maud writes the words — and if you've messaged us, you've probably heard from her.
Together, we create posters for the hikes, rides, runs, routes and adventures people want to remember.
What started with one adventure on our own wall has grown into a small studio for outdoor people around the world — from ready-made trail designs to custom posters made from your own route file.
It started after work,
on weekends, and whenever we had a spare hour.
In 2014, we walked the Great Ocean Walk in Australia. It was one of those trips we kept talking about long after we were home — the kind of adventure you want to remember properly.
Years later, in 2020, we had an empty wall and started looking for a simple, beautiful poster of the route. We couldn’t find one that felt right, so we decided to create our own.
That first design became the start of Tell Your Trail. At the time, we were both still working full-time corporate jobs, so everything happened in the hours around work. Evenings became design time. Weekends became research time. Customer messages became the best part of the day.
People asked for trails we had never heard of, shared memories from routes around the world, and slowly helped shape Tell Your Trail into something bigger than we first imagined. What began with one poster for our own wall grew into a side project, then a small business, and now a full-time adventure we are building from Italy.
We hiked the Great Ocean Walk in Australia — a trip that stayed with us.
With an empty wall at home and no poster that felt quite right, we created our own. Tell Your Trail began as a side project.
The collection grew as customers started asking for trails from around the world.
Personalization and bespoke designs became a bigger part of what we do, with more people asking for custom titles, colors, dates, and route details.
We moved to Italy and found our dream home — a place to live the adventure.
Tell Your Trail is our full-time focus, and the Studio opens a new chapter: turn your own route into a poster, or make one of our designs truly yours.
A small studio, a bigger adventure ahead.
Today, Tell Your Trail is our full-time focus. From our studio in Vittorio Veneto, we design, write, reply, research, build, and keep improving the way people turn their adventures into something personal.
The biggest step in this next chapter is the Studio — a way to create a custom poster from your own route file, or personalize one of our ready-made designs with your own title, subtitle, stats, and colors.
The idea behind Tell Your Trail is still the same as when we started: your adventure should feel like yours.
We work with professional print partners to produce each poster to order, while we stay close to the part that matters most to us: the design, the details, the story, and the person behind it.
We are still a small business. Still the two of us. Just with more time, more ideas, and a lot of adventure love.
Four rules we don't break.
Designed with care
Every poster starts with the route. We keep the design clean, personal, and focused on the adventure it represents — whether it comes from our collection or from your own route file.
Made to order
Your poster is created when you order it, with the details you choose. Title, subtitle, stats, colors, route — the small things matter.
Professionally printed
We work with professional print partners to produce each poster on high-quality paper and ship it to your door. We focus on the design, the details, and making sure the result feels worthy of your wall.
Real replies
When you message us, you hear from us. We are a small studio, and we do our best to reply personally, helpfully, and as quickly as we can.
