The Pacific Crest Trail, or lovingly called the PCT, is America’s second-longest trail. The PCT walking trail starts in Campo at the USA/ Mexico border and finds its finishing line in Manning Park, British Columbia, near the USA-Canadian border. Leading you through California, Oregon, and Washington, and a whopping 25 National Forests and 7 National Parks. Some of the Pacific Crest Trail hike highlights are crossing the mesmerizing Sierra Nevada and the Cascade Ranges and providing you with the experience of extremely hot desserts and ice-cold snowy mountains. With a length of 2,650 Miles /4,265 KM, often the question arises as to how long does the Pacific Crest Trail take? This can vary significantly, but it would take between 4-6 months to complete the entire trail on average. In 1968 the trail received the National Scenic badge and is therefore officially the Pacific Crest National Scenic trail, although the official trail wasn’t completed until 1993. Together with the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail forms the Triple Crown of Hiking in the USA.
